With support from UC Climate Investments, CNSI in partnership with Community Environmental Council and Santa Barbara County Wildfire Resilience Collaborative are hosting an opportunity for cross-sector collaboration on potential policy, innovations and projects related to wildfire resilience in Santa Barbara County. Discussions will include progress, successes, challenges and future innovative opportunities for the suite of wildfire resilience projects occurring and in various stages of conceptualization throughout our region. The summit will feature "Before," "During," and "After Fire" panel sessions followed by discussion sessions. 

Through understanding the systems and infrastructure our wildfire resilience efforts are built around; we are able to advance and integrate innovative adaptive strategies to better live with fire.

  • Inspire new collaborations to develop innovations that close identified gaps, including new UCSB research directions
  • Foster connections to provide “real world” feedback as innovations are developed to accelerate progress and broaden adoption.
  • Educate existing and emerging funding agencies on the robust pipeline of wildfire resilience projects currently underway and in need of implementation investment.
  • Develop an understanding of the current policy and technology gaps that need to close in order to significantly advance wildfire resilience.
  • Enhance elected officials' understanding of the nuances and complexities of wildfire and its impact and importance in every arena of government activity.
