Biofabrication Cluster
BioPatterning
The PRIMO maskless photopatterning system by Alvéole is a large format direct writing tool specifically designed to create in vitro microenvironments through three techniques: micropatterning, hydrogel structurization, and microfabrication. This technique has high resolution of around 1-2 um over the entire field of view (500x300um) and can stitch multiple fields together to create large area patterns.
- Micropatterning: capable of fine-tuning cell adhesion to mimic in vivo interactions to study cellular mechanisms or isolate specific cells
- Hydrogel Structurization: this system can polymerize commonly used hydrogels to create 3D cell cultures, spheroids, or permeable membranes
- Microfabrication: Based on DMD processing, this system can use greyscale lithography combined with greyscale resist to create 3D molds
